SPEEDY FOX & FRIENDS CHALLENGE #148

Welcome to my blog today!!  It's good to be back after battling technical difficulties. Throw me a few recipes, a couple skiens of yarn or flat of flowers & I am good to go. Put a computer glitch in my lap & forget it!! I am totally lost. Thank goodness I know an IT guy!

Anyway, this weeks challenge is a fun one! We are doing cards that represent the state in which we live. I am in Illinois, so no palm trees, beaches or glorious sunsets. What we do have is the CARDINAL as our state bird.

Here is my challenge card:

What I've used:

CHRISTMAS CARDINALS stamp set
Memento Tuxedo Black ink & copic markers
Spellbinder dies
card stock from my stash

I hope that you get the chance to play along this week & HAPPY STAMPING!!!

  1. This is so pretty, you have colored the red bird beautifully and I like how you sponged red around the die. Red, black and white is such a winning color combo. I didn't know we were from the same state until tonight. Funny thing is - you live about 2 hrs away from me.

  3. My mom is a cardinal freak! Cardinals everywhere and she was born in Michigan! Your card is lovely! I also like Cardinals very much - our state bird is a robin - did not add one to my card - too many other paper piecing items on it! Enjoy your weekend!

  4. Beautiful!!! I don't think you can go wrong using that cardinal. You and Shirley depicted Illinois in totally different ways.

  6. Kate--beautifully done! You colored the cardinal fabulously! I didn't know that the cardinal was the state bird of IL! It's the state bird here in VA and NC too! TFS
